Whether we are happy or not depends on our inner harmony, not on other people or events. Certainly we should keep on learning how to master our outside circumstances, because our physical comfort and survival may well depend on it. But such mastery will not add one bit of joy to how we feel, or reduce the chaos of the world as we experience it. To do this, we must learn to achieve mastery over our own consciousness, state of being, and Emotional Fitness.
